If you are an engineer, landscape architect, or scientist looking to learn the first step in the process of installing living shorelines, then this one day training is for you. During the course of the day you will dig your boots in to learn how to evaluate a shoreline to see if it's a good candidate for a living shoreline through:
a step-by-step site evaluation document
hands-on work in Google Maps, GIS, and other online sites
a field tour of 3 demonstration sites
summarization of the next steps in the process
Be prepared to spend half the day in the classroom, and the other half in the field taking a close look at the marsh edge (hip boots recommended).
The Delaware Introduction to Living Shorelines Course or similar introductory course to living shorelines is a prerequisite for this training.
This training is free, and lunch is not provided. Draft agenda coming soon.
